The FURIOUS project proudly participated in the ECOMONDO 2024 fair, held from 5–8 November in Rimini, Italy, to showcase cutting-edge developments in the field of bio-based polymers.
As part of the event’s comprehensive program on sustainable materials and circular economy solutions, FURIOUS highlighted the transformative potential of 2,5-FDCA-based polymers through an engaging presentation. Debora Puglia, FURIOUS project coordinator, and Nadia Lotti, FURIOUS technical coordinator, presented FURIOUS in a dedicated session titled: "Ecodesign, Processing and End-of-Life Opportunities for 2,5-FDCA-Based Polymers".
During the presentation, the speakers explored how 2,5-FDCA (furan dicarboxylic acid) offers sustainable solutions for polymer production, with applications in packaging, textiles, and other industries.
Why ECOMONDO?
ECOMONDO is a key event for connecting researchers, industries, and policymakers, making it an ideal venue for FURIOUS to engage with stakeholders. The fair provided opportunities to discuss the latest research results, foster collaborations, and promote bio-based alternatives to conventional plastics.
FURIOUS continues to pave the way for sustainable innovation by driving forward the adoption of furan-based polymers. The project’s participation in ECOMONDO highlights its commitment to fostering collaboration and disseminating solutions that align with the EU’s goals for a circular bioeconomy.
